The Ransom Line

A cargo ship is seized off Libya and the commander holding her fourteen sailors demands a ransom. But the amount splits evenly four ways: one share for each of four local men lost at sea. He isn't selling the crew back. He wants the owner to pay for ordering another one of his ships to flee and leave them to die.

The owner calls in Cole Hardin, a suspended American intelligence officer with no badge, no backup, and one rule: never lie. A sailor is running out of insulin. A night handoff at sea goes wrong under a patrol's searchlight. And someone is secretly paying armed men to take the ship back by force.

Now Hardin must fly into Libya alone with the owner's confession, to a town where armed trucks are massing on the road, four grieving families want different things, and the commander holding his passport has secrets of his own.
